ROLE OF NGO IN SOCIAL SECTOR:
NGOs stands ‘Non-governmental organization’ play an important role in the social sector development or human development in the world. Particularly role of a NGO become vital in the developing countires and poorest countries where they are hardest bit by indifferent situation like political instability, natural disasters, ethnic strife, law and order or where people are living without their basic needs.
NGOs already working mainly focussed on the areas to achieve sustainable Health, Education, infrastructure, and access to markets.
In Pakistan, NGOs involvement in the social sector development is very encouraging to the extent of some areas. Though network of NGOs is spread all over Pakistan. Most of funds are not properly used and there is not check and balance available for them. If all these NGOs work within their framework or according to their original plan the nation need not be poor.
If an area is pinpoint, Northern Areas of Pakistan is fortunate having a large number of Local, National and International NGOs are engaged in different fields. Performance of NOGs working particularly in these areas are somewhat questionmark. However, some of them taking pain and heading towards their goals. There has always been a machanism avialable here in Pakistan to evaluate their performance and auditing of their funds but all this should be tranparent too. Nevertheless, it is an established facts that NGOs can make and have made invaluable contributions to the social and economic development process of various countries
