Gilgit-Baltistan is consist of six districts i.e. Gilgit, Skardu, Diamer, Astore, Ghanche and Ghizer. These districts are spread over on a vast terrain area.

GILGIT DISTRICT: Gilgit is the HQs of Gilgit-Baltistan and strategically an important city on the Silk Route and trade centre to China Kashgar. It is the busiest city of this area and main place for the tourists make your plan for Hunza-Passu-Sost, Khunjerab and China. Naltar is also 2 hours drive from Gilgit which is mostly visited by local and foreign tourists due to its picturesque grassy-land and glacial lakes. A SKI Resort is also there managed and run by Pakistan Air Force. Kargah Budha  of 8th  century AD is also very famous place for the visitors.

SKARDU: A beautiful valley and base camp of the tourists to and from K2 and other highest peaks. There are Shiger with its attractive places like Raja of Shiger residence - Shiger Fort and fruits orchards and Khaplu district HQs of Ghanche famous for Shyok river and Chaqchan Mosque on its surroundings. Kharphocho Fort, Manthal (Budha carving) Kachura Lakes, Deosai Plateau and Sadpara.

 DISTRICT DIAMER: Chilas is Distrit headquarter of Diamer, Chilas is situated alongside  the Karakoram Highway and 150 Km. from Gilgit. Chilas is well known due to hundreds of ancient rock carvings and inscriptions in and around which provides unique cultural and strategic importance of this area.  One can witness these rock carvings is down a jeep trek on the south bank River Indus and another near Thalpan Bridge. Chilas is also accessible by a jeep trek with  Kaghan Valley via Babusar Pass about 4,173 meter.
DISTRICT ASTORE: District Astore  is located on very important strategic location and  remained only route for trade and military movement between Gilgit and Srinagar in ancient times. It is now approachable from Gilgit by road some 110 Kms. Rama Lake (3,150 meters) can be reached from Astore via 6 Km. trek.  There are lot of Alpine pasture and forests surrounds the lake, which reflects the image of Nanga Parbat. It is breathtaking place and ideal for trekking, hiking and  gives please view for enjoyment of wild nature. It is about 5 hours drive from Gilgit. One can have hotel like government owned PTDC Motel with restaurant and camping facilities and also a Forest Rest House.
Rupal Valley: From south of Astore there is a village called Tarashing. It is hub for trekkers going to Nanga Parbat and upt to Rupal Valley.

Deosai Plain:  Deosai is situated at a height of  4000 meter above the sea level and beautiful plain area. It is easily accessible via Astore or Skardu through jeep able trek. For the people keen different and unique flora and fauna can visit Deosai National Park where inhabitants of rare Himalayan IBEX or brown bear, Golden Marmot, Wolf, Griffon, Red Fox, Vulture, Laggar Falcon, Peregrin Falcon and  different flowers and birds welcome you. Best visiting time is July to August. Beautify and location of Deosai cannot be forgettable.  
Naltar Valley: It is 35 kilometers and only 2 hours away from Gilgit via jeep able trek.  This is coolest place all times. Naltar is famous for Skiing games alongside lush green Alpine forest  that are held every year. There are lot of place for visitors with Government Rest house, Private hotels. There are glaciers and lakes provides great opportunity for fishing especially trout fish. Trekking routes link with Ishkoman, Chalt and Punial valley.
Singul: It is about 60  km from Gilgit and one the best trekking route linking with Chilas and Kohistan Valley.

SHIGER & KHAPLU (GHANCHE):

Base for Trekkers

Shiger and Khaplu are both the valleys ideally located in Baltistan District and about 2 hours drive away from Skardu. These are Hub for the local and foreign tourists embark upon for expedition/trekking to K2 - Askoli or other peaks etc.
